SHARE PGR TRAINING SKILLS WORKSHOP
CEI has teamed up with Sheffield Anti-Racist Education (SHARE) to develop a PGR skills training workshop on research dissemination. Following feedback from students, it will focus specifically on writing research funding applications and public speaking/teaching. The workshop is designed as an introduction to these topics for a small group of PGRs. As well as enabling PGRs to construct an action plan for research dissemination, this workshop will help them build an interdisciplinary PGR community and to welcome PGRs to the SHARE network.
Date: 1 February 2024
Location: The Wave (Seminar Room 5)
Eligible: PGRs of Colour
Refreshments will be served throughout the workshop and lunch will be made available at 12.30pm
SHARE is a group of Sheffielders working together to advance anti-racist education in our city https://sheffieldshare.org/ We support initiatives to decolonise every sector of education. SHARE has been working with the CEI for over a year, through a Knowledge Exchange Project. SHARE also works with the Roots and Futures project (Archaeology Department) and teacher education (the School of Education).
SHARE workshops offers a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which facilitators address the issues faced by PGRs of colour in progressing their research careers. They follow an interactive format and focus on small groups, allowing for a greater discussion of experiences and ideas.
